Anodising
Reliable corrosion protection for aluminium.
Constituting the electrolytic oxidation of aluminium, anodising utilises an electrochemical process to generate a corrosion resistant coating on the surface of aluminium.
The essential properties at a glance
- excellent corrosion protection depending on coat thickness and aluminium alloy
- resistant to solvents, acids, and weak alkalis
- electrically insulating effects
- weather resistant
- optimal antifriction properties (hard anodic coating)
- standard and special colourability of anodic coating for decorative purposes
- permanent protection against wear and other external damaging effects
- suitable for cathodic dip painting and bonding agents
With optimal processes to the ideal surface
- DC sulphuric acid and DC sulphuric-oxalic acid processes
- standard anodising
- the combination of anodising and subsequent coating (powder, wet, or cathodic dip painting) enhances the corrosion resistance
- pretreatment with wet blasting gives rise to a look of particularly high quality
- anodising as a pretreatment generates a good keying surface for bonding agents
