Electroplating

Anodising

Reliable corrosion protection for aluminium.

Constituting the electrolytic oxidation of aluminium, anodising utilises an electrochemical process to generate a corrosion resistant coating on the surface of aluminium.

The essential properties at a glance

  • excellent corrosion protection depending on coat thickness and aluminium alloy
  • resistant to solvents, acids, and weak alkalis
  • electrically insulating effects
  • weather resistant
  • optimal antifriction properties (hard anodic coating)
  • standard and special colourability of anodic coating for decorative purposes
  • permanent protection against wear and other external damaging effects
  • suitable for cathodic dip painting and bonding agents

With optimal processes to the ideal surface

  • DC sulphuric acid and DC sulphuric-oxalic acid processes
  • standard anodising
  • the combination of anodising and subsequent coating (powder, wet, or cathodic dip painting) enhances the corrosion resistance
  • pretreatment with wet blasting gives rise to a look of particularly high quality
  • anodising as a pretreatment generates a good keying surface for bonding agents
